Remember our Sehome High School, those years back in the 70’s. Well, hang on to those memories because those school walls that have heard everything under the sun (clouds?) was decommissioned and demolished. When I moved here in 1974, it was the “new high school” and that was my designated school to attend. Being a creative kid, I always enjoyed art class from Mr. Priebe. The art classes were located downstairs at ground level. Those big long tables were there for us to sit at and create! Fast forward to around 2019 there was talk about remodeling the school, due a variety of updates needed. When the demo started, they removed and sold practically everything that was moveable. My oldest daughter was one of the individuals who over saw certain aspects of the demolition. One day she informed us they were selling off all remaining items at Sehome and as you guessed….those long heavily used art tables were there! Naturally of course, I rushed down there to the demolition site and bought a piece of my good but very heavy memories – an art table. Even today when I look at my prized “vintage” art table, those memories of high school trickle back in….if those tables could talk….
